Department of Pediatric RheumatologyInformation for PatientsThere are many resources available on the internet for patients with pediatric rheumatic diseases. The sites below are a few of those that we feel have the best information on them. The Arthritis Foundation- A nonprofit health organization site with lots of information about different diseases, treatments, and how to advocate for patients with rheumatic diseases. The Lupus Foundation of America, Inc.- A nonprofit health organization site with information about treatment and support for patients with systemic lupus erythematosus and related conditions. Lupus International is an organization that strives to alleviate suffering for lupus patients through patient services, including education, early detection of undiagnosed cases through awareness promotion, and to eradicate lupus by supporting lupus research. In addition, Lupus International organizes and runs a monthly support group for teens with Lupus at the UCLA Pediatric Rheumatology Clinic, starting at 12 pm on the first Tuesday of every month. The Scleroderma Foundation- A nonprofit health organization site with information about treatment and support for patients with scleroderma. Vasculitis Foundation- A nonprofit organization that provides emotional and informational support for patient’s with Wegener’s granulomatosis and other types of vasculitis. National Fibromyalgia Association- a non-profit organization dedicated to improving the quality of life for people with fibromyalgia by increasing the awareness of the public, media, government and medical communities. |
